10 Ways to Make Money Remotely as a Video Editor Today

We live in a technology-driven world, a place where gadgets and emerging technologies control everything. They have helped humans transform into a better species and have also changed the world to a huge extent. From the way we live our life to the way we work, everything has changed, and the remaining will change soon.

One of the biggest changes we have seen is the massive shift of written content to video content. And due to the increasing demand for gigs and video content has led to the demand for video creators and editors in the market.

Year after year, video editors’ demands are increasing because many experienced and well-trained editors have started working as freelancers or individuals. This gives them the comfort of working from their room and on their terms and conditions. It gives them the ease to create videos without hampering their comfort zone.

So, here are 10 different ways by which you can make money remotely as a video editor.

1. Using the freelancer platforms

With changing times, people have started liking their comfort while working, giving rise to several freelancing platforms. Some are used in specific countries, and some are worldwide popular for helping the clients meet up with good editors that can create videos for them. Any situation like the ongoing pandemic leaves no impact on the freelancers or the clients. With massive amounts of content being created daily, clients worldwide need editors and usually turn towards freelancing websites. You can check online for these websites and get going.

2. Work for yourself as Video Editor

The best way to create a buzz in the market is to start working for yourself in the beginning. It might look difficult, but a lot of video editors have showcased their talent through this. The best thing or the best way to do it is to create your YouTube channel and create videos. People are always hungry for good content of multiple niches, and if you are to create a buzz, you can earn your living through YouTube. There are several other similar platforms where you can turn yourself into an influencer and get paid for any ad or video. If you are still not able to do it, check out the website of InVideo and know how to edit like professionals.

3. Collaboration with people and company

You can simply collaborate with people or companies that are already established in the market. Experienced video editors collaborate with fresh editors and teach them or share work with them for a breakthrough. All the fresher editors get work from people having loads of work, and they get paid for it. So, this might look like an easy way to get paid, but it isn’t. You need to find a person who is trustworthy for not holding up your money.

4. Teach online

Now the first thing that pops up in the mind when anyone thinks of teaching online is through YouTube. You post tutorial videos, and that would be sufficient enough. But what if the students need to ask a question? You will either have to make another video for that or write things to make them understand. This exhaustive procedure could have been an option a couple of years ago. These days everyone extensively uses their social media platforms.

If you want to teach online, why not go live and take a class? You can post the timings and dates for each class, and after a demo class or two, you can start charging people by giving them your account number.

5. Get certificates

Now if you choose to become a freelancer, you don’t have to give any interviews or anything. All that’s asked for is the gigs you have created. But there is another tool or catalyst that can be very helpful for you, and that’s certificates. Try to get into certified courses and get certificates.

If those are recognized worldwide, even better. Clients are always glad to work with people who have certificates, and many freelancing websites already have a vacant space for people to put up their certificates.

You can keep uploading your videos on your website, and whenever someone asks you about your portfolio, just show them the website. Every potential client can become a client when you have something concrete to show, and having a website would work in your favor.

7. Go social

We all know social media is one extensive pool of people where not everyone comes to entertain simply. There are several job seekers and many who have a hunger to learn more. You can create your business social media handle on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn for starters and keep posting videos frequently. When you start getting people, you can either teach them online or search for clients who would want to work with you.

8. Connect with nearby companies

You can always try to connect with companies around you or those far away to work with them. You can search for such companies online on the internet or in job portals. There are high chances that you would get someone.

9. Use LinkedIn

One of the best places where you can find a part-time job or full-time employment is through LinkedIn. There are high chances that someone would read your profile and get in touch with you. Else, if they would not want it, there can be chances that they might refer your profile to someone who needs your services.

10. Ask your existing clients

You can also connect with your existing clients and get in touch with them. You can simply inform them that you are now working as a freelancer, and if they need you, they can get your services.

Conclusion

So, these are 10 good ways of making money as a freelancer. You can use all these methods and check which one works for you. Working as a freelancer won’t hurt because you don’t have to think about job security, working environment, or any other desk job-related issues.

Use Positive Words In Your CV To Be Called For An Interview

Of course, you should choose positive words in your CV depending on your personality, skills, and the job you are applying for. Try to include the words in your resume in a way that looks natural, not artificial. That is why our recommendation is to modify some words that you have already entered in your CV, in the end, as the last retouch. This method will give an air of naturalness to your text rather than introducing positive words in addition to what you have already written in your CV.

Also, do not introduce too many positive words so as to affect the naturalness and reality of the text. Keep it real, but empowering. Your text should reflect confidence in your abilities to perform very well at your next job and deliver the work needed to be done.

As a general rule while applying for a job try to apply for many jobs and many companies, for example, more than 50 jobs. When you receive a refusal, don’t ask yourself too much why you were refused. If you are not called, do not count the days since you applied until today. Be grateful to those who call you and direct all your efforts to those interview processes.

It is possible that if you applied for 50 jobs, only 5 of them will call you for an interview, or maybe 10. It is normal and good. That’s why it’s good to send your CV to a list of companies that may not have made a job that you want, public, but have that position available. Plus you’ll be in their database.

For example, if you want a position in a bank, you should search the internet for a list of all the banks in your city and send their CV to all of them. Search on each website of the bank the Careers section or mention “If you want to send us your CV use this email address” and send your resume to them. You may be surprised and called for an interview for a position that was not made public.

Good luck in your search for a suitable job position and we hope this article helped you to improve your CV.

3 Ways to Get a Good Job Interview and Get Your Dream Job

Getting a job in this technology-driven world is not as easy as it used to be. Before, employers are always looking out for people to fill several job positions. However, these days, the tides have turned.

Yes, several job opportunities get posted online daily. The availability of jobs is not a problem. There are millions of job openings on some sites dedicated to job opportunities.

What is the Problem?

The problem is that the number of applicants has rapidly improved. Each job posting receives about 250 applications on average. The competition for each job opening becomes impossible to comprehend.

So, when a job opportunity gets posted, the company will get hundreds, if not thousands, of applications in a short while. Most of these openings only need one candidate for the job.  While your application letter can be among these thousands, the odds of getting the job is not on your side.

The competition becomes even more intense depending on the popularity of the company with the job opening. Companies such as Google have millions of applications every year for their job postings. According to the research, the company’s hire rate is only about 1%, and it keeps falling by the year.

Ways to Increase your Chance at Getting a Good Job Interview

Research reveals that less than 2% of job applications convert to interviews. However, it’s interesting that you can significantly increase your odds of getting an interview by requesting help from sites like domyhomeworknow.com or following some strategic steps. Some of these strategic steps include;

1. Apply Early

Remember that there will be a lot of applications rolling at the moment a job opening gets posted. Now, think about the number of applications that will get checked. You’ll find that a large portion of the submitted application will be left unchecked. The number of staff available to do the checking will determine the number of applications that get proper attention.

Therefore, you increase the chance of your application getting reviewed when you submit early. Leverage the features on popular job boards such as LinkedIn. Turn on the notification on these platforms using keywords related to the type of job you’re searching for.

Also, have your CV, resume, cover letter, and other necessary documents at arm’s reach. Having them prepared makes it easy to apply for a job. You may need to adjust or tailor your cover letter and other written documents. But don’t let that process take forever. Do it quickly and apply as fast as possible.

2. Take A Stance

Being open to a different career path is excellent. However, employers usually have specific and immediate needs and will want to hire someone qualified for that position and have a clear goal of what they want to do.

For example, if you are in social media marketing and have qualifications that can fit into a branding and PR role, make sure your focus is on your skill in this area. Let other skills be an undertone in your application. Read all essay topics that you can find online related to it.

That way, your potential employer knows you have what they want. Therefore, review and tailor your qualifications to match the essential responsibilities and competencies of the job.

3. Leverage Connections

If someone refers you to a potential employer, you’re more likely to get an interview. The best way to eradicate competition is employee referral. Therefore, it’s best to go through formal employee referral if you’re passionate about an organization and a job opening.

Find a way to connect to the organization using any of your past business contacts. Get your contact to refer you to the company under the assertion you always did a good job when you worked for them. That way, you would have gotten an edge over other applicants.

How Can You Get A Shot at a Good Job Interview?

What if there’s a way you can write a killer application?  Killer-paper.com promises to help you write one that will put you ahead of every other applicant, tilt the odds towards you, and land you a good job interview?

It might interest you to know that there’s a way to do it, and there are steps to follow.

How Employers Carry Out Interviews

The whole process begins with you applying for the job opening. Among hundreds of thousands of people also looking to get the job, you must find a way to make your application selected.

It is after selection that you can move to the interview stage. If your application does not find its way into the employer’s hands, you would have lost the opportunity from the onset. We have mentioned how to write the best job application.

A typical employer will only pick about six to ten qualified applicants for a job opening. These selected candidates will go through at least one round of interviews before the employer decides who is fit for the position.

In some cases, the employer will take the selected candidate through two or more interview stages, dropping some candidates after each interview and enlisting the remaining candidates for the next ones.

If the employer cannot find someone qualified for the position, they go back into the pool of applications, pull out some more applicants for the position and take them through the same interview process.

Final words

You might need to read and digest a couple or other articles you find relating to getting a good job interview, including this one, to feel confident about what you’re doing. It’s relatively easy to get an interview using these principles. Once you get your first business interview, you’ll understand better.

Technical writers explain technically complex things in a simple human language that everyone can understand. They know how to write and, at the same time, are technologically savvy. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics expects technical writing employment to grow 8 percent by 2028. This growth is boosted by the expansion of scientific and technological products and increased web-based product support.

If you are wondering how to get started as a technical writer, this article is right for you. We will help you find out more about the qualifications and skills you may need to get one of the best technical writing jobs. Moreover, we will provide you with some ideas on where to search for jobs.

How to Get a Technical Writing Job With no Experience

Getting the first job is the hardest step for beginners. It is the same for technical writers. However, finding a job without experience is not impossible. As long as you have the motivation and desire to develop your skills, you still have a chance to land a technical writing job. Here are some tips that can help you.

Think about education

The requirements for candidates vary by employer and industry. Some companies recruit technical writers with a bachelor’s degree in English, writing, technical communications, or a specific technical area related to their company. Others may not require a candidate to have a diploma. However, regardless of education and practical experience, technical writers must be proficient in English and have excellent written communication skills.

Hone your skills

SIGNS

By Victoria J.Brown

There are signs daily telling us we are going to the right (or wrong) direction. They are all around us and it’s our job to look out for them. If you are a spiritual individual, you’ll understand when I say your angels are constantly communicating with you. If you’d like to know more about angels and connecting with them, I recommend renowned best-selling author Doreen Virtue. If you’ve not heard of her, her books are a must-read.

But even if you’re not spiritual and you’re thinking the talk of Angels is a step too far, have a think about one word … coincidences.

Things happen in life that we call coincidences, but if you put the pieces together around these coincidences and work out the puzzle you’ll be amazed at what you’ll find.

In the words of Albert Einstein:

This brings me on to numbers – if you haven’t heard of numerology you can read more on an excellent website Numerologist

In a nutshell, numerology is related to your name and your life path. This is a really interesting way to look at your personality, your character and understand whether you are on the right life path or not.

Numbers are also sent to us by our angels, again, Doreen Virtue describes the meaning of numbers in her book, ‘Healing with Angels’

And in her own words …

Sometimes we don’t want to look for signs because we’re scared, we’re worried about the change in our lives, the upheaval … but if you’re unhappy anyway and you’re unconsciously calling out for help, (or you may already be aware that your angels are helping you and you are consciously asking for their help, but you still feel apprehensive), if you remember the angels have your back. They are sending you signs to help you move forward. They want you to be powerful, strong and awesome and they will help you achieve these goals. Believe and look for the signs.

Top 4 Mental and Interpersonal Skills To Benefit Your Career

You are about to hack into the best way to obtain the key to your dream career. Have you ever thought that there is a set of skills that are effective in any domain you choose to work in? These skills fall into the mental or interpersonal category that some are born with. But few are aware of how much they value, so it’s important to spot your personal assets from the beginning and work on them.

Interpersonal skills will not only help you climb the career ladder, but they will also improve the quality of your personal life. By mastering them, you will get to become a better self and reach any goal of yours.

Why have the interpersonal skills won so much ground in any chosen career?

Most of the jobs today have shifted from physical work to the office environment. Along with this change, the employee has become a link in the working chain. The employee is now interconnected with the system as a whole: clients, colleagues, and management. Working alone is not an option anymore, not even for programmers, cooks, or clerks. And this is where your interpersonal skills come in. By gaining control over your work relations and connections, you will easily mold your future exactly the way you want it. So let’s begin to disclose these skills!

1. Negotiation

This is the skill you need to help you stand up for yourself. No one should ever just speak up their mind on what they would rather do to whomever they meet. This is definitely not the professional attitude your employer seeks in you. For a perfect negotiating dialogue, start by detecting the benefits of your wish. Will this action you are in favor of bringing mutual content?

After answering that question, choose the right words to describe your point of view, adopting a calm and understanding tone. It is of utmost importance to also pay attention to your negotiating partner. Many times, you will have to compromise, but do not jump to conclusions. Take a step back and see the bigger picture. Will the terms of the negotiations bring you the desired outcome while keeping a good relationship with your partner? Then, congratulations, you have just finished an ideal negotiation dialogue.

2. Leadership

Self-confidence, charisma, and hard work are the main elements that a leader should acquire. This skill will bring you the most desired work position: manager. You might think that a manager has too many advantages for an equal work ethic, but behind a happy, successful manager stand many struggles, failures, and obstacles. There is quite a lot of effort in becoming a leader, and no one should take it lightly.

The main goal of a leader is that of creating the perfect team: one that works like a well-oiled machine. And this is where the hard work begins. To accomplish this, one needs to find and select the ideal candidates for him (not too under or overqualified), create a solid strategy, organize training sessions, and clearly communicate how they want things to work out.

3. Taking Responsibility

This skill should be studied by every adult out there: take the blame for your own actions. You must be aware that every action has a set of consequences among which there is always the risk of failure. Own your actions, take the risk and coldly analyze the situations they trigger after they are implemented. Learn from your mistakes and develop strategies to avoid these situations in the future.

Being afraid of failure is also a dark spot on your interpersonal skills. You will definitely win the appreciation of others if you take the courage to carry out that bold marketing strategy that no one dared to even think about. There are chances that you might fail, but how else can you out better yourself?

4. Positive Outlook

So, you have a strong team, and nobody has ever questioned your work ethics, but do you still manage to find your inner joy? There will always be a higher goal to achieve, that you can be sure of. You will always chase after self-improvement and self-contentment, and if you don’t start enjoying this ride, you will lose yourself in this game of life. Exercise spotting the good side of any event or “fake it till you make it” as people say. Your good mood will influence everybody around you and improve their performance. Not to mention that positive thinking can help you find a job, which will launch you into a new career path.

Studies found that positive people are better at problem solving and they have a better life quality. So, what is there to lose if you choose to be happy?

There are many other mental and interpersonal skills. Make an in-depth research about them and get to know your own special skills better. Nobody is perfect which means that there is always room for improvement. Never stop learning and believe in yourself!
