6 Steps for Creating Good Habits – 6 Constructive Habits

Have you ever taken a step back and counted all your good habits? It’s a valuable exercise that can help boost your confidence and inspire positive feelings. In a lot of ways, it’s similar to gratitude journaling. First, be grateful for your good habits, and then work to create new ones.

1. Identify problem areas

The most productive place to start creating good habits is in replacing bad ones. For example, let’s say you’re drinking too much alcohol. Before you can replace that bad habit, you must admit that it’s an area of your life that needs to be changed. Accept you have a problem with addiction and plan your next steps. This step works for virtually any problem area. Stressed? Identify the causes of stress, and you can figure out how to eliminate them.

2. Brainstorm ideas to create good habits

If you don’t know how to replace your bad habits with good ones, that’s ok. It’s ok to ask for help. Talk to people you trust and come up with productive ideas. If you need help quitting a bad habit, this is the time to do so.

3. Pick a tangible goal

Maybe you plan to lose 10 pounds, exercise three times a week or to dedicate more hours to a passion project. It should be something that will take at least 10 weeks to accomplish. Experts say this is how long it takes to form new habits. Whatever your goal, be specific and write it down.

4. Don your positivity cap

Think about your good habits in terms of cans instead of cannots. Instead of focusing on the things you’ll have to give up to reach your goals and form healthy habits, think about the things you’ll gain. For example, if you’re eating healthier, you may gain energy, health, and confidence. This is the time to get excited about the good habits that are on the horizon!

5. Have patience with yourself

Once you start your goal, you’ll feel amazing. You’ll feel like you’re on top of the world on the first day of your new habit. Unfortunately, old habits die hard, and they will try to creep back into your life. Don’t let them! Understand that these feelings are natural and keep doing what you’re doing. If you falter a bit, don’t beat yourself up. Just pick yourself up and get back to that good habit.

6. Count the days

When you’re having trouble sticking to your new habits, remind yourself that it’s only 70 days out of your life. It may be even less if you’ve been at this for a while. After about 70 days, the things you’ve been doing to reach your goal should be habits instead of chores. After your initial 70 days, you’ll barely have to think about doing these things that are good for your body and mind. But you don’t have to think about any of that. For now, just focus on getting to the end of your goal.

We create good habits in the same way that we create bad ones. Remember, a habit is just something you’re doing. Why not spend your time doing things that are positive and productive? If you do, your thoughts will naturally shift to become more positive too!

Everything you are today is the result of the habits you possessed yesterday and everything that you will ever accomplish his dependent on the habits that you have today. So, get up and resolve to practice some good habits by adopting which you can become successful and lead an affluent life.

1. Become Goal Oriented

Identifying the goal of your life and working towards it is the basic thing one can instil in their habits. No matter what you do, you must be a habitual goal setter. Cultivate in yourself goals for every day of life and strive to achieve them by the end of the day. This will mold you in the long run. Every successful person around the globe is known for being passionate goal oriented. Right from the beginning, they know what exactly they want. They pen down their goals and try to accomplish them at any cost. It is then perseverance and hard work that helps in getting to the goal.

2. Be Smarter

To become successful, you don’t need to be born with a silver spoon in your mouth. All great men in this world who have become successful have come from the lowest levels of their lives. It is their smartest moves that have made them successful. In today’s world, you need to be even smarter to achieve what you want. There are uncountable tools and software that help us become smart these days. For instance, if you are a content developer, a reword sentence tool can help you create a new content in the fraction of minutes. So, instead of sitting and working on your head, be smart any use the resources that can help you become more efficient. You may rephrase text by using a word rephrase generator and get your work done in no time.

3. Become Action Oriented

Action speaks a thousand words. So, actions help you analyze where actually you can land up in life. It also helps you to get on with a particular job and get it done exactly as you want. It depends on you how you act upon situations and urgencies and handle things with the right action. You need to leave procrastination behind you to become successful in life. Forget your fears and land up yourself on the platform from where you see only your goals and nothing else. The right blend of goal and action can only assure success.

4. Discipline Yourself

Discipline is the basic tool to achieve everything in life. It is only after you are disciplined, you can create scopes for yourself. A person who is not disciplined never get anywhere in life on his own. Your knack to discipline yourself is the key to the door that opens towards success. The habit of being self-disciplined always goes hand in hand with success in life. Just being goal oriented, and failing to become disciplined and follow any strict time table is like striking arrows in the dark. To achieve success, you must be disciplined in every aspect of life, be it getting up in time in the morning or completing an assignment in time. Setting up targets is a part of being disciplined. And, am sure you all know the significance of setting up targets.

5. Being Honest

Last but not the least, you all must have heard the quote that, “Honesty is the best policy.” Yes, it is true to every bit of it. No matter what you do, prosperity and everlasting success can’t be achieved if you are not honest. Being honest, on the other hand, means that you are implementing the “reality principle” in every job you are doing. So, if you are aspiring to become successful forever then need to pick this habit for sure. No doubt, there are hundreds and thousands of people out there who adopt deceitful means to achieve success or reach their goals but mind it, it is just for the time being. This is temporary. It is guaranteed that such success can’t stand the tests of life. It will vanish in some time.

5 Smart Habits to Help You Stay Positive

We can have everything we want in this cruel world. The world may be cruel but it has everything we can ever need and want. We just have to know what it takes to get there, but knowing all the technicalities isn’t enough. There’s still one more thing that’s even more important: staying positive. Indeed, the world is a cruel place. It can knock you down a couple of times before you actually get what you want and deserve. But after those pulls and knockdowns, there will be something better that’s waiting for us.

There are loads of people who happen to have all the intellectual resources they need to succeed, but they still ended up in the opposite direction. That was because they had the wrong state of mind.  You don’t have to be one of them. One of the best things about life is that we have the freedom to dream all we want, and what makes it even better is we have the ability to decide whether to make it come true or just go on dreaming. You can start making that decision now. Here are some of the habits you need to start learning now to stay on the positive lane to success and happiness:

1. Looking at the bright side of every bad situation

No matter how smart we are at school, no matter how productive we are at work, the world can still take a turn at us. Even so, it still helps to look at the bright side of the situation, but like many things, this is something easier said than done.

When we’re faced with a difficult situation it becomes hard to notice that its only one part of an entire picture. Despite the negative outcome, there is still a bright side sitting next to our problems, we just have to shift our heads a bit, and not focus too much on our problems. Once we realize that there is still hope, we can then get back to the track. Seeing the positive situation, the next step is to look for that one thing that can turn our life back around.

2. Cultivate and live in a positive environment

This article isn’t about staying positive for a day. Rather, it’s about staying positive as long as we live. So, how do we do that? We do it by exposing ourselves to positive stimuli.

It’s going to be real hard staying positive if we live under a roof where we hear nothing curse words. Everything starts at the home. What you’re like at our own space, that’s also what you’re going to be like once you leave the gates.

So, let’s say, you’ve already cultivated a positive environment back home. The journey to staying positive doesn’t end there. You still have to observe your positive habits when you leave the house. This means you have to spend time with people with the same positive mentality as you.

3. Live slowly

People are often carried away by their daily duties that they come to do everything as they appear. They don’t have the time to think things through. As a result, their actions don’t bear positive results. And then what happens when all our effort become a waste? It builds up lots of stress in us and then all the negative thoughts sink in.

Not only does it make for an unhealthy lifestyle, it can also cause us to spend the rest of our lives working, and not having the results that we want.

Have you ever tried being in a hurry to attend a meeting, and then just when you’re a few steps away from the conference room, you realize that you forgot something back home? Can you remember the frustration you felt back then, all the negativity that sunk into your veins during that day? Well, try to double that by a thousand because if you always live life in a hurry that’s what the end of your life is going to feel like. Now, imagine that you planned everything before you got to the meeting. With that, you had the freedom to take your time to get to the venue. Can you imagine the light feeling that comes with it as you leave the office? Yes, exactly. That’s the benefit living slowly.

4. Don’t let fear hold you back

The best thing about life is that we can be whatever we want. So, don’t ever let anything or anyone hold you back from your dreams.

Imagine that you were doing well in a job, and then suddenly an opportunity knocks at your face. You knew full well that you want to take this step forward, but some part of the mind is telling you to just shrug it off because one simple mistake can ruin everything you’ve already attained. So, what do you do? Take a risk. Failures aren’t meant to be the end. If you happen to succeed in taking this risk, and then good for you, but if you don’t and that doesn’t mean you should sulk for the rest of your life. Nor does it mean that you should refrain from taking any more risks. It is in failure that we come to know success. See your downfall as a new learning opportunity.

5. Add value and positivity to someone else’s life

It’s not just about you. You also have to give back to other people. The world is comprised of positive and negative people alike. The only way for you to stay positive is if you spread the positivity all around you.

HABITS

When we think of the term habit, we generally think of ‘bad habits’ but instilling ‘good habits’ into your life can be life-changing.

Here’s 10 great daily habits to get you started on integrating good habits into your life.

HABITS

Did you realize that our day is made up of lots of habits? Good and bad … from the moment we step out of bed until we climb back in, our day is a run of routines, that have turned into habits, that we are either happy with or would like to break.

Here’s a little exercise for you:

Write down your day as you go along and establish whether these are good or bad habits, i.e: Is your morning coffee a good habit? Maybe not a great one, but walking the children to school or biking to work are great habits.

HABITS

Once you’ve established all your habits (good and bad), tick which ones you would like to change. You may be happy with your morning coffee and have no intention of changing it, or you may have been wanting to reduce your coffee intake for a while.
The best way to change a habit is to create a good one in its place.

It is hard to change a bad habit, but it will be well worth it, you must believe in yourself and commit to this change.

Not all habits are about eating healthily or keeping fit. It could be something in your life or something that you do that you would like to change: note it down and take action. Start doing something daily to change this habit.

Change in certain habits could be small at the moment but you will soon see the changes in your life.

As I always say

SMALL STEPS COUNT

You can do this! So go on, start making the changes now. Make your good habits fulfil your life. Be the best person you can be
