Narcolepsy

It is a sleep disorder with low prevalence in the population. Only 0.02 to 0.16 percent of adults are affected. It affects both sexes equally. It is characterized by access to sleep at any time in the daily life of the affected person. The patient with narcolepsy may have difficulty sleeping at night. But instead throughout the day, he has acute drowsiness attacks, which make him fall asleep in any situation, which is why it is especially dangerous. Muscle weakness, hallucinations, etc. are some of the symptoms that can also be suffered from this disease.

Apnea

It is a stop of the respiratory signal while we sleep. It is important to detect it. For this, what is called the sleep test is done. If a person suffers from sleep apnea it can cause headaches, pulmonary hypertension, heart problems, etc. It consists in that during sleep, the airway becomes obstructed, so that the person who suffers from it, remains at least 10 seconds without breathing, with the problems that this can be associated with.

There are different treatments for this disease – from drugs or surgery to devices that help to clear the airway. In some cases, it’s a good idea to get a service dog to help with sleep apnea by alerting when significant sleep problems occur during the night.

Insomnia

Insomnia is the difficulty that a person has to sleep. It can be of three types:

Bruxism
