Top 5 Signs You Are Giving Up On Your Dreams And Hopes

Some people are just so lucky.
They seem to know what they want in life since they were kids. They work their ways to do things that make them happy. Also, receive support from their families and friends.

These people become extraordinary in their fields. They love their works and people love them, give them so much attention.

It sucks right? Because life seems so unfair.

While they know exactly who they want to become, you cannot even imagine how you will be in 5 years. Yes, you still remember the childish dream when you were a kid, but come on, who can make a living out of it?

Plus, even if you want to pursue it, it’s too late now. You are already settled down. You don’t like your job but at least it pays you. You have a family to support, you cannot be reckless and risk it all.

Yes, one day you will be working on your dream. It’s just not today. You are way too busy and occupied right now.

When is that “one day”? You don’t know yet. But “one day” you will do it.

What do those successful people know that you don’t?

Not all successful people were born blessed and lucky like you imagined. Many of them struggled in the past, many of them had their own sad stories. Some of them thought of giving up more than one time.

But they have something in common.

They don’t give up on their dream and do everything they can to pursue it.

Do you have that?

Yes, you have a dream. You are passionate about it. Yes, you decided to pursue it. But you decided to work on it “one day”. They are working on their dreams now.

Instead of making excuses to delay it, they decided to work right away.

Do you want to know if you still have the mindset of “almost successful” people? Here are 5 signs that you are giving up on your dream. Tell me, how many of them are you guilty of?

1. Your “should do” list becomes more important than your “want to do”

You know that working and achieving your dream takes time. A very long time indeed. You don’t know if it will be 5 years, 10 years or even 20 years.

Since it is so far away in the future, it can wait a little longer. Because you are busy right now.

You have a long list of things you should do. And you have to do them right away because they are urgent. So “now” is just not a good time.

The more you delay it, the less important your dream become. Your daily chores and errands can even come before your dream.

2. The “I am fine” syndrome

How are you feeling exactly? Frustrated, depressed because of your reality or you are feeling okay and “not too bad”?

Let me tell you about the frog boiling experiment.

If you put a frog into the hot boiled water, it will jump immediately. But if you put it into cold water and cook the water slowly, the frog will stay put until it dies.

The more you get comfortable with the situation you are in, the less chance you have to step out of your comfort zone to get what you really want. Before you know it, your dream is dead without any jumping!

3. You compare yourself with less fortunate people

You often compare yourself with other people. You get jealous and anxious when you see how perfectly talented and happy people are. You become frustrated and think of yourself as a victim.

To get over this feeling, you then decide to compare yourself with less fortunate people. But it’s not because you appreciate your life the way it is. It’s because it makes you feel better about yourself and the situation you are in.

It’s easy to compare yourself with your peers, realizing they are doing worse than you and stop trying to achieve your goals because what you have today is enough.

4. You are not willing to give up other things in your life

Following your dreams is a hard work. It requires commitment and sacrifices. And you are just not ready for it yet.

Do you love watching movies? You can watch series after series for hours. However, you are not ready to stop yet.

Do you love going out to relax at night after work? You are not ready to go home and start studying yet.

Maybe you love traveling. You are not ready to bring your work with you when you travel, and you are not ready to give up traveling yet.

There are many things you love to do, and suddenly they become so important that you feel regretful giving them up. So instead, you put a hold on your dreams, because they are so far away after all.

5. You doubt your dreams

The more you spend the time to think about your dreams, the more unrealistic it becomes. The more you plan it, the more uncertain it becomes. As a consequence, the more you talk about it, the sillier it becomes.

The truth is, it might not have any problem with your dreams and your plan. But in fact, you are doubting yourself.

What you are doing is not planning, it is making excuses and convincing yourself to give up.

Don’t spend your life thinking “what if”

You are ambitious and talented. You might not believe it but you have what it takes to succeed.

Only if you stay with it.

Yes, it is hard, it is painful when you follow your dreams. You will have to sacrifice many hobbies, many chances to have a good time. You will feel vulnerable, scared and excited at the same time.

Only if you stay with it.

Life is short. Don’t spend your life thinking “what if” and regret later.

Your dream is your baby. Your dream is still inside you, screaming and trying to get out and see the light. Give it a chance. Give yourself a chance and go for it.

So stop making excuses, and let’s do it. Together. Right now.

I Am Grateful For My Place And Purpose In The World

I am an inspired individual, whose daily footprint is best expressed through words and thoughts in writing.
Each day is a blessing, some say a gift.

For those of us who have the good fortune of receiving love, support from friends and family, have a choice regarding our education and vocations. They can surely hope to evolve learn and find peace and contentment with our choices.

There are people less able to make choices because illness or a disability or social circumstances limits their dreams, hopes, and aspirations.

Success is measured in many ways, and not necessarily by wealth and fame.

If I was to define success I would say the following

The success story of humanity lies in the way we interact and share our qualities positively with the rest of the human race. I am most grateful for my journey from youth to present.
I may not be a chief executive or drive an expensive vehicle or possess expensive materialistic items, but my place and purpose and positive choices are important footprints in my daily space and the space I share with others.

Like others, I have experienced suffering and pain, but steered myself through darkness with positive thoughts. My choices have not always steered me along a positive path, but knowing, that others are suffering in the world, are victims of cruelty or geographical disasters, confirmed that I am in position to make choices, some of which are good, some bad.

I am most grateful for my inner strength

Grateful for the gifts life has blessed me with, and grateful that I recognize my purpose as a sentient human being. Grateful for all I have received in my life journey, of living and learning the many different life events and experiences on my journey. Also grateful for the space I occupy on this wonderful planet and the energy I emanate daily to all in my personal and professional arenas.

I am grateful that I feel established and comfortable with the human being I am, my place and purpose. Therefore I find little reason to complain.
My achievements may not be grand or make ground breaking news.

But their significance and purpose are footprints from my journey.
I am at peace with myself , happy and content.

Grateful is a positive word

‘Life force’

We are beautiful instruments,
Living in the ever ongoing
Mysterious orchestra of energy.
That delivers our purpose and grace.
So we may emanate our own individual
music to share
and be received as gifts
of humanity in the hearts
of those with whom we
Share our world.

Author’s Bio

Grew up in the North of England as a young child, steered my way through a difficult relationship with my mother and stepfather. Most of my spare time and school holidays was spent with my sister who had health difficulties.

In the early part of my life journey I was fortunate to have two wonderful uncles in my life. They recognized my creative gift for words and writing thus encouraged me to express myself through words and writing.

I reflect on those moments  in my journey shared with two wonderful human beings and their wonderful minds, whose influence left an impression so  my journey would grow and evolve. As a result I grew to be who I am and express my gratitude, compassion and energy, through my love of words and writing.

I work full time not as a writer, but I am in the process of writing a book a thought/poem/affirmation for each day of the year I belong to the spiritual writers network who have published two of my poems. ©

Magic Sparkles of Happiness: I Am Bless And Bless Is Me

This article contains fragments from the book Magic Sparkles of Happiness, Chapter 3 ~ I Am Bless And Bless Is Me

“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.” – Mahatma Gandhi

I am joy and joy is me.

I am bless and bless is me. I am love and love is me. I am abundance and abundance is me. I am prosperity and prosperity is me. I am happiness and happiness is me. I am strong and strong is me. I am powerful and powerful is me. I am success and success is me. I am beauty and beauty is me. I am peace and peace is me.

I am inspiration and inspiration is me.

I am thankfulness and thankfulness is me. I am freedom and freedom is me. I am vitality and vitality is me. I am perfection and perfection is me. I am gorgeous and gorgeous is me. I am ready and ready is me. I am kindness and kindness is me. I am self-respect and self-respect is me.

When we could be only happiness, then we will feel only happiness.

We would receive only happiness since only happiness we would recognize. We would attract only happiness. Only happiness would stick to us. We would be a form that holds only happiness. To all other feelings we would just remain immune.

We would give only happiness to others. We could not give anything else. We could not give nothing since all the time we would give happiness. We could not stop ourselves from not giving happiness to all the people, no matter their age, language, skin color, social status, disabilities, abilities, level of studies, thinking. Because we would be only Happiness.

A man said to the Buddha, “I want Happiness.”

Buddha said, first remove “I”, that’s ego,

then remove “want”, that’s desire.

See now you are left with only Happiness.

Let’s think empowering thoughts…

… and fill ourselves with happiness so that we overflow with happiness at least three times a day. We give happiness to others when we overflow from within ourselves with happiness. That means we would feel, in almost every corner of our inner self, the feeling of happiness, and then more. More means that we multiply our happiness.

We multiply our happiness when we feel grateful while we feel the feeling of happiness. Therefore to overflow with happiness we need a simple reason for being happy and practice gratitude simultaneous. When you overflow with happiness, you are happiness and happiness is you.

The same process applies to everything else. To overflow with love, first you start practicing feeling the love and then you multiply that feeling by being grateful. When you overflow with love, you are Love and Love is you. A little secret to help you start practicing Love is: start practicing kindness, then loving-kindness, then you pass to feeling the Love.

Albert Einstein said: “Problems cannot be solved at the same level of awareness that created them.”

I believe that the awareness of a certain word makes you feel that word.

Therefore, when you are aware of a problem, first transform your level of awareness and then, try to solve that awareness. Most of the time, when you have an emotional struggle, the main reason is because you are focusing too much on a certain negative word.

For the moment, you find yourself located at the level of awareness of that negative word. The solution is to develop your awareness for the positive word, which is the opposite of the negative word.

The transition can be made with the below Step 2, where you are negating the positive world, you are saying not together with the positive word. Therefore you can jump through levels that take you to the positive feeling represented by the positive word, when you start from the negative feeling represented by the negative word, by taking the following simple steps:

Step 1) Name a single word for your negative emotion.

This is the easiest part because you are complaining about it in your mind, so you know what you are struggling with. For example name it like: sad, angry, mad, complaining. Then acknowledge it saying: “I am sad. I feel sad.”

But, don’t stay too much in this state of awareness. Take the next step 2.

Step 2) Replace the negative word with two words, composed of not and the opposite of the negative word.

For sad we have happy, therefore you will have not happy.  Spend some time by focusing on these words. You can repeat to yourself: “I am not happy. I don`t feel happy.”

Then, think at the information stored in your mind related to what not happy means to you. In this stage, you will see that your brain will come with a list of happy things that you lack in the moment. This is precisely what you need. You can write it down and look at your treasure.

The list is a treasure because now you have a list with things that make you happy and you can start doing them and start being happy. But before going through the list, make step 3 also.

Step 3) Start repeating in your mind only the positive word, without not.

In our example you can say the word happy. You can also say happiness.  Say in your mind the words at least 35 times, and then increase the reinforcement to 40, 60, 100, 200, 400, 1000 times until it makes sense to you, until your brain starts to reflect and focus on these words.

To make it easier and more powerful, write it down on a piece of paper. You can write the word happiness as many times as you need, until you feel the awareness of the word. Write it with big letters (this always has the biggest impact) and even in different colors.

I strongly believe that not what we say to ourselves troubles us so much, but what we don’t say to ourselves is troubling us, especially when we need to hear certain words in our consciousness. Most of the time we all search the feeling of relief, and in this way you can offer to yourself some self-relief.

If you do not know and really understand what a positive word stands for…

… then look it up in the dictionary, research it on internet and read articles and books about that word (there are many books about loving-kindness, acceptance, gratitude, equanimity, warm-heartedness, self-love, relief, abundance, peace of mind, mindfulness, confidence, happiness).

If you do not know positive words then put positive words in google and click on the first list that comes in your search. It is the list of positive words that I’ve created and published on Positive Words Research, the website that I founded at the beginning of 2013. Inspire yourself from this list whenever you feel you need a positive word.

The direct link of this list of positive words is:    https://PositiveWordsResearch.com/List-of-Positive-Words

A sentence is an accumulation of words.

When we grow up we need to take the responsibility of being our own teachers. And when a positive word weakens in our mind, we need to give ourselves the task to reinforce that word.

Except writing the word, a more powerful way to reinforce the word “happiness” in your mind is for you to start researching on the word happiness.

Increase your awareness by reading articles on the Internet about the word happiness. Read books about happiness. There are a lot these days. Find and learn all the positive words that are connected to the word happiness. There are so unbelievably many related words to happiness.

“Well, you know, a lot of people look at the negative things, the things that they did wrong and – which I do. But I like to stress on the things I did right, because there are certain things that I like to look at from a positive standpoint that are just positive reinforcement.” – Tiger Woods

Homework 3:

I will again give you another homework which is to build your own personalized happy moment:

Make your own blessings replacing the sparkles with your own words:

I AM * * * * * AND * * * * * IS ME

Author’s word

This book contains positive affirmations that make you feel happy. I recommend you to read throughout the chapters, taking each sentence, one by one. The sentences are arranged in a certain serene flow but can also be read separately.

The writing of this book has begun with my daily writings. I had some blissful, full of love, mesmerizing days when I just felt that I want to connect my own being with positive, high and strong words. Then connect myself with everything around me, connect my consciousness with the reality outside me. In this state I began to write this book.
